Kabayan Remit campaign for NHS

Kabayan Remit supports the NHS during COVID-19 pandemic

Since the first outbreak of the unprecedented COVID-19, key workers have been at the forefront of this pandemic battle. In the UK, most employees have been asked to work from home, whilst some workers from certain fields continued working in the frontline to help the community.

The coronavirus has affected our daily lives, and has taken its toll on the country’s economy and health service. Standing brave in front of it all to save lives were the health workers and the NHS Staff across the UK.

We, at Kabayan Remit, believe that we are all one in this battle. In support of the NHS’ courageous and relentless efforts, we worked with local Filipino businesses and communities to provide food for the NHS Staff to keep them going throughout this fight.

Through our “Thank you NHS” campaign, we were able to distribute over 1,000 packed food to some hospitals, whilst strictly following the guidelines and directives implemented by the government.

With the help of Filipino Community of Oxfordshire (Filcom Oxford), MM Catering Services, Coco’s Lounge Kilburn, and our dearest Filipino friends across the UK, we successfully distributed food to the NHS Staff of the following hospitals:

  • John Radcliffe Hospital – Oxford
  • Churchill Hospital – Oxford
  • St Mary’s Hospital – London
  • Royal Free Hospital – London
  • St Thomas’ Hospital – London
  • Royal Brompton Hospital – London
  • St Bartholomew’s Hospital, known as St Barts – London
  • North Middlesex University Hospital – London
  • St Thomas’ Hospital – London
  • Queen Elizabeth Hospital – London
  • Stoke Mandeville Hospital – Aylesbury

We also had the opportunity to distribute 23 bags of goods in Stockton-on-Tees with the help of our friend, Mr. Victor Manejero.

Now that we are coming through the peak, let’s all continue working with one another. We can overcome this battle altogether. Again, thank you NHS and all the dedicated frontliners for being our heroes.

Stay alert. Control the virus. Save lives.
